Lutheran Men

Summer Memorial Lutheran Men in Mission meet on the third Sunday morning of each month at 8 am.  All men, young, old, and in-between, are invited to participate in this ministry.  They enjoy a hearty breakfast cooked by the men themselves, followed by devotions and Bible study.  General business discussions conclude the meeting.

The men of Summer Memorial are known throughout the community for their annual turkey stew fundraiser.  Monies from this event provide support for various activities at the church, community and state levels.  One key benefactor is the South Carolina Lutheran Men in Mission (SCLMM), which supports new Lutheran mission congregations across the state.  Learn More

One continuous goal of the group is to receive the Outstanding Unit Award given by the SCLMM at their annual convention in February.

Our Lutheran Men in Mission (LMM) are active in the SC Synod's Heartland Conference LMM with representation at each of the quarterly meetings.  In September, they also organize and lead the Lutheran Men in Mission Sunday worship service at Summer Memorial.  At this time, faithful members may be recognized with an honorarium and/or memorial life membership into the SCLMM.

Other longstanding traditions of the Summer Memorial Lutheran Men include their Easter Sunrise breakfast for the congregation and their Christmas Ladies Night celebration dinner.

Each year a deceased and a living member who have who have been dedicated members of Summer Memorial LLM are recognized on LLM Sunday.
