We will continue following the guidance of the Governor and the CDC until the proper authorities give direction otherwise.

Palm Sunday & Easter Services in Church Parking Lot - 10:30 AM

Summer Memorial Lutheran Church is planning to have our Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday service in the parking lot, in the style of a drive-in movie! We have an FM transmitter, and you’ll be able to hear through the radio in your car. We will be emailing out a bulletin for you to print out at home and bring with you, along with other information you’ll need for the morning. For Palm Sunday, April 5, we will begin in the parking lot at 10:30. Please take responsibility for yourself and others and STAY IN YOUR CAR. If we cannot do this safely, then we cannot do this at all. We will be in touch with information about services on Easter.

Church Offerings & Gifts

There are several options for getting offerings to the church. Offerings can be made either through the mail or dropped off in person to the church office. Phyllis is working in the office a few days a week in the afternoons – call on a Monday afternoon, and she’ll let you know when she will be at the church for you to drop it off. You can give online via through our church's website. Click here or visit our church website and click e-givingat the top right of the website. We also plan to have a way to give at our drive-in service.

Virtual Circle Meeting - April 17

Peace and love to all of you! We certainly miss being able to gather together in fellowship. Although we hate not to take our usual spring retreat weekend away, we're offering an opportunity for a virtual gathering! At 6:30 p.m. April 17, the Circle of Friends will host a virtual circle night. We are on the last chapter ("I Beg Your Pardon") of our study book Bad Girls of the Bible - and it's the author's "far away favorite" story!

Even if you hadn't bought the book or are not part of the Circle, you are still welcome to join! Each chapter is a separate story so you won't have missed a thing. Bring a glass of wine and some snacks if you choose, and close the door to your partner and children to take a little time to reconnect, recharge, and reflect with your fellow Summer women.

Christina will arrange for a virtual meeting platform and conference line. If you'd like to attend, please RSVP to Christina so she can send you the call-in information and an attachment with the book pages to read. Christina's email is: christina.galardi@gmail.comWe know this won't accommodate everyone, but we hope it will allow "at least two or more to gather in His name"!

We have received word from SCLRC that Coastal Retreat Center will be closed at least until the end of April. Considering these uncertain times, the decision was made to cancel our spring retreat for this year and make plans to reserve our weekend for April 2021. Though we will certainly miss having this weekend together, we feel that this is the best decision for our group at this time. Be safe and hope to see our church family back together soon.
