Church Offerings & Gifts

There are several options for getting offerings to the church. Offerings can be made either through the mail or dropped off in person to the church office. Phyllis is working in the office a few days a week in the afternoons – call on a Monday afternoon, and she’ll let you know when she will be at the church for you to drop it off. You can give online via Tithe.ly through our church's website. Click here or visit our church website and click e-givingat the top right of the website. We also plan to have a way to give at our drive-in service.

Book your weekend getaway at Camp Kinard or Coastal Retreat!

Need a place to safely getaway for a few days? Come join us at the South Carolina Lutheran Retreat Centers! Coastal Retreat reopened its doors in July and is currently offering individuals and small groups overnight accommodations on the Isle of Palms. While our 20 rooms are available for rental, Coastal Retreat's common areas (Kitchen/Dining Room, Lounges, and other indoor areas) will remain closed out of continued precaution. Looking to stay in the Midlands? Camp Kinard invites you to stay in our Lodge Rooms (motel style accommodations) or to book a space in one of our campgrounds. Both the Primitive and RV/Family Campgrounds are available and offer plenty of fresh air with beautiful views of the glory of God's creation while staying at Camp Kinard.

Need more info, we invite you to contact us anytime! Reservations can be made by leaving a message at (803) 532-3183. You can also e-mail our staff anytime at contactus@sclrc.com.

Book Study Beginning July 22

With hopes of having a theological conversation about the issue in our society and examining our calling as Christians and a faith community, Pastor James will be leading a book study on The Trouble I’ve Seen: Changing the Way the Church Views Racism by Rev. Dr. Drew Hart.

The first meeting will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, July 22 at 7 pm. It will be a time to get together with those who will be participating to test out zoom for those who aren’t familiar with it, talk about what we hope to learn, discuss any goals we have going into the book, and set a discussion schedule for participants. If you’d like to order your own copy of the book, it can be ordered online at these locations (and others):

Church Schedule

We will continue with our parking lot worship service at 9:00am on Sundays until further notice. Ongoing discussions about worship service will continue at monthly council meetings and any deviations from the current schedule will be announced accordingly if and when made.

This year's Homecoming celebration will be rescheduled for a date TBD. We continue to be grateful for the ongoing participation and support of the congregation – the worship of the church continues, and the work of our ministries goes on as we do our best to continue to provide meaningful ministry in our Newberry community.
