Lutheran Men

The Lutheran Men in Mission unit of Summer Memorial is a diverse group of fellows who meet monthly to strengthen relationships with each other and God. Attendees range in age from three-years-old to almost 90 years of age.

We regularly meet for about an hour on the third Sunday of each month in the fellowship hall. Meetings begin at 8:00 AM with a hearty breakfast meal followed by a short devotional/Bible study and closing with any business items that need to be discussed with the group.

Summer Memorial Lutheran Men are not only active in our home church, but we, as a unit, support the work and mission of both the Lutheran Men in Mission on the state and national levels. Below are some highlights and activities our Lutheran Men are involved with during the year:

  • Hold annual Turkey Stew fundraiser
  • Hold regular monthly breakfast meetings
  • Hosted Heartland Conference LMM Quarterly meeting
  • Sponsor LMM Water Mission Sunday
  • Attend SCLMM Convention
  • Host congregational Easter breakfast
  • Recognize high school male graduates with Master Builders Bible for Men
  • Cook VBS closing meal
  • Provide meat for Golden Agers meal
  • Attend Heartland Conference LMM Quarterly meetings
  • Celebrate Lutheran Men Sunday in September

  • Host annual Christmas Ladies’ Night

Although we are Lutheran Men in Mission, sometimes we are fortunate enough to have fellow brothers of other denominations and faiths join us, and you’re encouraged to continue bringing others to any of our events.
